The book is divided into four chapters, and each chapter serves a different purpose. Deals with a different pain. Heals a different heartache. Milk and Honey takes readers through a journey of the most bitter moments in life and finds sweetness in them because there is sweetness everywhere if you are just willing to look.

Extremely overrated. I doubt anyone will even see this review, buried among all the five star ratings . . . The ‘poems’ are hardly 3-5 lines in length. In my opinion, writing a sob story and breaking it up into lines to look like poetry does not mean it is poetry For example, straight from this ‘book’, ‘you’ve touched me without even touching me’ ‘more than anything I want to save you from myself’ ‘removing all the hair from your body is okay if that’s what you want to do just as much as keeping all the hair on your body is okay if that’s what you want to do’ Not poetry, more like some Tumblr quote or something that people post on their Instagram to get over some breakup. I checked out the printed book of Milk and Honey and the imagery is rather disturbing . . . if you can even call it imagery—looks to me more like a first grader’s drawing with the little squiggles. Seems that the person who drew it closed their eyes and drew aimlessly, then called it a day. THIS IS NOT A BOOK FOR TEENS, and the first few poems basically hint about [forced] sex. If you really want to read it, just check a copy out from the library and don’t waste your money.

I’ve struggled with depression for the longest but this book helps me see things from a different perspective. It shows the bad and how you can make good from it. It explains heartbreak in a way you would’ve never imagined. I highly recommend this book
