The Book of Mormon The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints epub

The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible. It is a record of God’s dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas and contains the fulness of the everlasting gospel. The Prophet Joseph Smith translated this record by the gift and power of God and first published it in March of 1830 as the Book of Mormon. It is now published in many languages as a new and additional witness that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and that all who will come unto him and obey the laws and ordinances of his gospel may be saved. The 2013 edition of the Book of Mormon includes clarifications and adjustments to the introduction, footnotes, and chapter headings; however, these adjustments have not been so extensive as to require members to purchase the new edition to stay current with either the Church curriculum or personal study.

This teaches us to trust in the Savior Jesus Christ and to learn about the examples and choices that we can make on this Earth. This also teaches us how to love your mother, father, brothers, sisters, other family members, and friends who all will be supporting you no matter what happens. It will teach you to have faith and to love your Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and God

I am an ex-Mormon but I will never deny the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I am currently a member of the United Society of Believers in Christ's Second Appearing also known as the Shakers.
  • The Bible is the truth, and nothing but the truth.

The contradictions between the Book of Mormon and the Bible constitute a most serious obstacle to accepting the Book of Mormon as Latter-day-scripture that is supplemental to the Bible. The Bible came first, not the Book of Mormon. And whereas the Bible is organically linked to the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ by extensive surviving manuscript evidence going back as far as A.D. 125-30, the Book of Mormon is wholly lacking in any such evidences of ancient origin. It is not reasonable, therefore, to make the Bible the standard for judging the Book of Mormon, and not the other way around? If we accept the Bible as our “measuring stick” for spiritual truth, the Book of Mormon must be rejected.
